Nevada Tribal Leadership Development Program

An Executive Education Program developed and delivered by the Nevada Leadership Program, part of the College of Business at the University of Nevada, Reno

Program Overview

The Nevada Tribal Leadership Development Program has been developed specifically for elected and appointed representatives and organizational leaders of Nevada’s various tribal councils and tribal communities.  The Program’s curriculum is designed to teach effective leadership and managerial skills.

Program participants will participate in a series of in-class residency sessions and receive a series of one-on-one coaching sessions with the Program’s faculty.  In addition to the one-on-one coaching sessions and in-class residencies, Program participants will also be asked to develop a comprehensive organizational or community strategic plan for their organization or community as part of a Program-long project.  Due to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic, all one-on-one coaching sessions and in-class residency sessions will be held online using a virtual platform.

Graduates of this program will improve their own policy making, implementation, and managerial skills and become a part of the effort to improve the overall efficiency and effectiveness and public accountability in the administration of Nevada’s tribal communities.

The Nevada Tribal Leadership Development Program provides exceptional non-traditional instruction and professional development opportunities to current and future leaders of Nevada’s tribal communities.
