Summary
I love learning and being around learners. I hold degrees in Music Performance from Arizona State University, Ohio University, and Stony Brook University on Long Island, NY and taught music from ages 6 through university level. I also have taught secondary math and science, test prep, and b'nai mitzvah programming, and have just accepted my first early childhood education position. I joined the College of Business Advising Team in summer 2024. I'm not sure what will be added to the list next, but I'm quite sure there will be new turns in the road!
Whether you always knew you wanted to go into business, are currently exploring, or have found your way here through past experiences, I am excited to plan and adjust alongside you during your time here at UNR. I know that when I was in school, it took all of my focus and attention just getting through my classes and learning to manage life as someone with a spicy brain. I didn't have bandwidth to also be thinking about class sequencing, time conflicts, or how to pivot if what I wanted to take wasn't available. I see my role as an advisor as supporting you in continually adjusting your plan so you can make progress toward your degree while you work, move, volunteer, try new things, study abroad, and anything else that will help make your college experience meaningful and prepare you for what's next. You don't have to hold all the pieces of your plan alone. I also firmly believe that 'graduating on time' is a subjective experience. When I'm not working with students, I enjoy hiking, kayaking, halfway-finishing jigsaw puzzles and cooking for as many people as possible.
