Erika Sanchez-Estrada was born and raised in Reno, Nevada, but her parents are from Mexico. She is a first generation and low-income student. Erika graduated from the University of Nevada, Reno in 2017 with a Bachelor’s in Human Development and Family Studies. She is continuing her education at the University and pursuing a Master’s degree in School Counseling. Erika has worked with the Washoe County School District for the last year at North Valleys High School. She worked with Dean’s Future Scholars for four years as a mentor and now has the honor of serving as a Graduate Assistant. She has a passion for working with children and families. Her hobbies include hiking, basketball, cooking and crafting.
