Summary

Erika Sanchez-Estrada was born and raised in Reno, Nevada, but her parents are from Mexico. She is a first-generation, low-income student. Erika graduated from the University of Nevada, Reno in 2017 with a Bachelor’s Degree in Human Development & Family Studies. She is currently pursuing a Master’s Degree in School Counseling. Erika has worked with the Washoe County School District for the two years at North Valleys High School. During her undergraduate studies, she worked as a DFS mentor and now oversees the DFS Youth College Internship program and the College Mentoring program. She has a passion for working with children and families. During the summer of 2021, Erika taught a summer college course while 9 months pregnant and gave birth to a beautiful baby girl.
