Summary
Elizabeth Newman is a current Project SELF scholar working toward her Ph.D. in special education. Her passion for working with a variety of individuals with different abilities has served her in both nonprofit and state roles. Within special education Elizabeth has found her area of focus to be early childhood special education. Elizabeth currently works as a developmental specialist supervisor for Nevada Early Intervention Services. Elizabeth is passionate about using family engagement to create social, emotional and behavioral outcomes for young children with special needs. A native Nevadan and graduate of the University of Nevada, Reno, Elizabeth’s goals are to bring resources, leadership, and support to those serving individuals with disabilities in rural Nevada.
Elizabeth enjoys spending time with her husband, hiking with her dogs and reading books. She holds a master’s degree in early childhood special education.
