Using the PointSolutions desktop app in the classroom

The PointSolutions desktop app (formerly the TurningPoint app) is installed in all the classrooms. You will need to log in to the app every time you use it. You also need to enable mobile access so students can join the session and participate in polling activities. Make sure you save the polling data to a flash drive, network drive or upload it to your cloud storage. Data will be lost if saved locally (on the classroom computer) upon daily reboot of the system.

Please follow the steps below to use PointSolutions for polling in class:

Log in to the computer, launch the PointSolutions app and log into your account. On the dashboard, click Enable under Mobile Responses. On the pop-up window, click Start Session to generate a random session ID and share it with your students. Close the pop-up window.

On the Dashboard, click the PowerPoint polling tile (or another polling feature). This will launch Microsoft PowerPoint. Open the PowerPoint presentation file and start the presentation.

When you finish the presentation and polling, click Save under the PointSolutions tab and save the session. Make sure you save the session data on your own flash drive, network drive or to cloud storage (such as NevadaBox), then close the PowerPoint file.
