What do faculty and students need for Respondus LockDown Browser to work?
Faculty must enable Respondus Lockdown Browser in their WebCampus course in order to require its use for exams. (Note: Faculty do NOT need to install LockDown Browser to require its use for exams; they only need to enable its use.)
Complete the following steps to enable LockDown Browser:
- Go to the course Settings, then the Navigation tab.
- Scroll down until you see LockDown Browser, right-click on it and then Enable.
- Save the change. LockDown Browser will be visible on the course menu.
Once enabled, the LockDown Browser link will appear in the course navigation menu. Note that the link is only visible to instructors. It will take you to the LockDown Browser dashboard, where all quizzes in the course are listed. From there, you will also be able to access quick tips, guides and tutorials on Respondus website.
Students must install LockDown Browser to take any exam that requires its use. Information on how students use LockDown Browser, including student installation information, browser functionality, and an overview of the student testing experience, can be found on the Respondus LockDown Browser and Monitor student resources page.
