Using LockDown Browser with WebAssign and McGraw-Hill Connect
Respondus Monitor is NOT integrated with WebAssign and McGraw-Hill Connect. Both platforms have their own customized versions of the LockDown Browser. Students will need to install the customized LockDown Browser for each platform in order to take the exams that require the use of the LockDown Browser.
WebAssign
WebAssign LockDown Browser prevents students from using any other application on their computer while they are taking an exam. However, it does not record students’ testing behavior and will not prevent students from accessing resources on other mobile devices.
WebAssign LockDown Browser only works on a computer (Windows or Mac); it does NOT work on an iPad.
Below are some resources from WebAssign that show how to use their LockDown Browser and help ensure academic integrity in online exams:
- Download and install WebAssign LockDown Browser (for students only)
- Set up an assignment that requires the use of LockDown Browser on WebAssign
- Secure testing best practices
Alternatively, if you prefer to use Respondus LockDown Browser + Monitor, you can set up a quiz on Canvas, create a question with a link to the exam on WebAssign. Refer to the resource below for details:
McGraw-Hill Connect
McGraw-Hill Connect is integrated with Proctorio, not Respondus. The Basic Package of Connect comes with the lockdown browser features. Instructors using MH Connect are able to take advantage of this feature without extra cost of students. Refer to the information below for details on the lockdown options:
