WebCampus grade integration with MyNEVADA
The final grade in WebCampus (i.e., the Total column) can be uploaded directly to MyNEVADA. For this to happen, there are two conditions to be met: .
- Grading scheme has to be enabled in your WebCampus course.
- There are no muted grading columns in the gradebook. (NOTE: The Total column has a mute icon when there are one or more muted grading columns, as shown in the screenshot below. You must unmute the grading columns before uploading grades to MyNevada.)
How to enable the grading scheme in WebCampus
Go to the course Settings, and check the option for "Enable course grading scheme". [See Figure 1 for visual example]
Click on the view grading scheme link in the WebCampus settings section in the "Grading Scheme" field.
The default grading scheme window will pop-up. It contains the default grading scheme in the system with a column of grade names (e.g, "A", "B" "F") and associate grade ranges (e.g., "94.0% to 84% for a B). If the grade scheme matches yours, click on the "Done" button/link and you are good to go. Otherwise, click on the pencil icon/link at the top to revise it. [See Figure 2 for visual example]
After clicking the pencil icon, the "View/Edit Grading Scheme" options will change, allowing you to update your grading scheme. You may enter a new grading scheme name, adjust grade names (e.g., "A", "B") and change the grade ranges in the "Range" field. After making adjustments, click on the "Save" button/link when you are done. You may be asked to give your grading scheme a name. Enter a name and then click the "Save" button/link. Note that you can only use one grading scheme per course; if you have S/U grade for some students, you will have to manually change it in MyNevada.
Click on the "Done" button/link and you will be returned to the "Course Details" section of WebCampus. Don't forget to click on the "Update Course Details" button/link to save the changes.
The grading scheme is enabled. You will see the letter grades appear in the Total column.
NOTE: MyNEVADA pulls student course grade instead of current grade (the current grade is the default view of the Total column, which excludes the columns with no submissions/grades). We recommend you enter "0" for those without submissions, instead of leaving them as ungraded. You can also have the WebCampus Gradebook do this for you. From your grade book click the "View" column, and select "View Ungraded as 0". For more information on this functionality please visit the related Canvas release notes page.
Uploading WebCampus grades into MyNEVADA
MyNEVADA offers instructors the ability to upload grades from WebCampus. This new feature should make posting final grades in MyNEVADA easier and faster. To automatically upload grades from WebCampus, you will need to:
Step 1: Ensure all the necessary tasks to prepare your gradebook in WebCampus, including enabling the grading scheme have been completed. Review the steps above before moving to Step 2.
Step 2: Go to MyNEVADA and upload the grades. Below, review step--by step screen shot instructions on how to complete the grade upload to your final grade roster in MyNEVADA.
How to upload grades in MyNEVADA
Instructors must first authorize in order to upload grades.
Access the Grade Roster in MyNEVADA
To do this, navigate to MyNEVADA, sign in and click on the "Grade Roster" tile/link from your Instructor Homepage. [See Figure 5 for a visual example]
Authorize to WebCampus
You should now see an "authorize to webcampus option" on the right hand side within the "Grade Roster Action" box in the "Grade Roster." Click the "authorize to webcampus" button/link. [See Figure 6 for a visual example]
You will then be redirected to the WebCampus log-in page. If you are already logged into Webcampus, you will not be prompted to log in. If you are not logged into WebCampus you will be prompted to log in using your NetId. [See Figure 7 for a visual example]
Authorize MyNEVADA/Canvas grade integration
After you've logged into WebCampus, the MyNevada/Canvas Grade Integration screen will be displayed, click the Authorize button on the right hand side of the screen. [See Figure 8 for a visual example]
Once you have you Authorized you will be redirected to MyNEVADA and an Authorization successful message will be displayed, click OK. [See Figure 9 for a visual example]
Upload WebCampus grades into MyNEVADA
You are now able to upload WebCampus grades into MyNEVADA. To use this new grade upload feature, navigate back to your "Grade Roster" within MyNEVADA. Choose the roster you wish to post final grades for. Click the "Load grades from webcampus" button/link within the "Grade Roster Action" box. [See Figure 10 for visual example]
You must have a grading scheme set up in WebCampus for the specific class you are uploading grades for. Once grades have been uploaded they will auto populate onto your grade roster within MyNEVADA. Any F's issued will need to have attendance information updated in the "Attendance" column drop-down that includes "Fully Attended," "Never Attended" and "Partially Attended" options. If the student "Partially Attended", the last date of attendance will also need to be entered in the "Last Date of Attendance" column. [See Figure 11 for a visual example]
If a student added the course late or is listed on the Grade Roster but does not have a grade in WebCampus, you will receive an error message before being able to move the Grade Roster to approved and post. Click the "OK" button/link and go back to manually enter the grades for any that may be missing.
If any of the students on the grade roster have changed their grading basis from Letter Grades to Satisfactory/Unsatisfactory, those grades will not be converted in the upload. You will need to manually select either S or U on the final grade roster, if left blank an error message will be displayed when you attempt to post the roster. If the student has changed their grading basis to Audit, they will automatically be assigned an "AD" grade. [See Figure 12 for a visual example]
Once all grades have been reviewed, from the "Grade Roster Action" box select "Approved" from the "Approval Status" drop-down menu. [See Figure 13 for a visual example}
Once the roster status has been moved to "Approved," click the "Post" button/link to post all grades officially on the roster. [See Figure 14 for a visual example]
