Digital Wolf Pack Initiative faculty sessions

Training sessions are being offered to bring you up-to-speed on all teaching related activities involving the iPad issued through the Digital Wolf Pack Initiative. The sessions listed below are offered by the University of Nevada, Reno and Apple Professional Learning in both a face-to-face format and online via Zoom. Apple Professional Learning led training sessions

Apple Professional Learning training sessions are offered online via Zoom and have a 40 person capacity. Registration is first-come-first serve. A confirmation email with a link to join the session will be sent out following registration.

Accessibility on iPad

Every iPad includes built-in assistive features that complement your vision, hearing, motor skills, learning, and literacy. In this session you’ll learn how features such as Speak Screen, Safari Reader, and Speech Controller support reading fluency, comprehension, and composition for every learner. (50 minutes)

Time saving tips for faculty

We will explore a wealth of ideas to help you stay organized, manage tasks, gather instructional resources, and more using built in applications and features. These tips can help you save time on many tasks you do daily. (50 minutes)

Getting the most out of Apple Pencil and Keyboard

With the combination of Apple Pencil and Smart Keyboard, faculty and students can take notes, mark up PDFs, and more. We will explore the unique features of Apple Pencil and Keyboard for productivity. (50 minutes)

Create videos with Clips

Clips is a free app that lets faculty and students easily create and share fun and engaging videos. We’ll show you how educators can use Clips to create instructional videos for exploring new skills and ideas — and how students can make videos to share what they’ve learned. (50 minutes)

We’ll explore project management and organization using Numbers - a free app that helps organize information with tables, charts, and illustrations that go way beyond everyday spreadsheets. These sessions will be guided by the final projects that were provided to us by each college. (120 minutes)

In this hands-on session, learn how to use gestures, work with text, enable accessibility features, and work with multiple apps simultaneously. Discover ways that you and your students can apply tips to everyday learning and teaching tasks. (50 minutes)

Scan, sort, and share

iPad makes it simple for students and teachers to scan, annotate, organize, and share documents. Explore a variety of ways that students and faculty can collaborate and share files and folders using cloud-based services. (50 minutes)

Workflow solutions for iPad and LMS using Clips

Clips is a free app that allows faculty and students to easily create and share fun, engaging videos. Explore how Screen Recording, Screen Shots, and Clips can be used to create instructional videos and tutorials for managing student workflow with your LMS. (50 minutes)

Creating and documenting learning

With iPad, faculty have the tools they need to create engaging instructional resources. In this session, you’ll learn how to easily record instructional videos, and quickly capture images or recordings of anything on your screen. You’ll then see how to bring all these resources together in Keynote to build a creative assignment that can be shared as a fun video with your students. (50 minutes)
