What you will learn/do

Build on foundational skills and knowledge to come to a deeper understanding of the social, cultural, political, economic, psychological and philosophical significance of media communication in society.

Internships & practicums

Students may work with a range of organizations, including NPR, Public Broadcasting Systems, KUNR, KTVN, KOLO, KNPB, the Reno Gazette-Journal, Travel Nevada, USA Today, the Los Angeles Times, CNN, MTV, Google, Kaiser Family Foundation, Tesla, Google, Electronic Frontier Foundation, advertising agencies, nonprofits, local government and more.

Future careers

Media management, production, education, administration, entrepreneurship, media buying, digital technologies, data analytics, social media strategies, national and international correspondence, journalistic reporting, PR/advertising, strategic messaging, public policy and service, politics, law and careers in academia as educators and scholars.
