What you will learn/do

You will learn how to ask relevant questions and listen well. You’ll learn how to find information and verify it and how to make data meaningful. You will learn to produce complex stories in written, audio and video forms and how to engage the public with your work.

Internships & practicums

Our students have interned at KUNR, KTVN, KOLO, KNPB, Reno Gazette-Journal, NPR, USA Today, LA Times, ABC News, Travel Nevada, Swift Communications, the Intercept and many other sites.

Future careers

Journalist, reporter (print, digital, TV, radio), editor, producer, anchor, videographer, photographer, podcaster, documentarian, writer, engagement editor, data journalist, social media manager, audience analyst, and many other possibilities.
