Employees beginning work at the University while we continue to observe Alternative Operations – especially employees who are relocating to the area – will likely have many questions about what to expect as a new employee and resident. The following FAQ and resources aim to help, but please don't hesitate to reach out to your supervisor or department administrative assistant, or contact Human Resources, if require further assistance.

Does the University offer any type of temporary housing?
Although the University does not currently offer temporary housing, we encourage you to check in with us in the future as plans may change. In the meantime, you may contact local hotels and ask for the education and/or government rate.

By when must I complete my benefits election?
New employees have 15 days from their start date to make selections. Our benefits team will reach out to you to schedule an orientation appointment to assist you with those elections.

I am in the process of completing my onboarding documents tasks. I uploaded my education credentials, however this task is still showing as incomplete.
Due to COVID-19 alternative operations, this process has been delayed. Someone will reach out to you if and when we require further information.

The onboarding steps in Workday required a document to be notarized and submitted within the first four days of employment, but it disappeared from the task list before I could complete it. I cannot recall what it was for.
This important document is called the Constitutional Oath and it is required per Article 11, Section 5 and Article 15, Section 2 of the Constitution of the State of Nevada. Human Resources will reach out to you to complete this form once we return to regular operations.
