Spring semester residence hall closing/move-out

Residence hall checkout overview

Complete the following to avoid check-out problems:

  1. You must attend the April community meeting hosted by your RA. It should occur the week of April 14, 2025. If you're not sure, please get in touch with your RA. Your RA will review closing information and instructions on removing your belongings, cleaning your unit, and returning keys/fobs (if applicable).
  2. All residence hall students should aim to leave as soon as possible after their last final to minimize disturbances to other students still taking finals. Residence halls close at 11 a.m. on Thursday, May 15, 2025.
  3. The last meal served in Pack Place will be lunch on Wednesday, May 14, 2025. Please visit Nevada Dining Hours of Operation to see what is open during this timeframe. You can use your meal plan for meal trades at participating locations through the end of lunch on this day to plan for your dinner meal.
  4. Graduating students attending the University's commencement (May 15–17) may request to stay in the residence halls until 10 a.m. the day after their ceremony. Submit the Late Stay form via the housing portal by 5 p.m. on Wednesday, April 30, 2025. You may be reassigned to a different room or building. A check-out appointment with your hall staff must be scheduled at least 24 hours before your ceremony.
    • Students requesting to stay past 11 a.m. on Thursday, May 15, for an approved University event or campus job must submit their work schedule when they complete the Late Stay form. Requests will be approved on a case-by-case basis and assessed at a daily rate of $23.38. If you are requesting to stay longer than May 18, please complete the summer housing application on the housing portal.
