Welcome to SMART NV

Introduction

The Semiconductor Materials, Advanced Research and Technology in Nevada (SMART NV) regional consortium is a partnership of businesses, institutions of higher education, and state and local entities that collaborate to support semiconductor innovation, technology, and materials. The consortium works alongside the Recharge Nevada consortium, contributing to national security objectives, economic resiliency, and U.S. technology leadership.

Vision

SMART NV partners support businesses in the semiconductor supply chain to characterize and manufacture critical and new semiconductor materials and train the next generation of industry leaders. Through research, collaboration, and workforce development, we aim to strengthen Nevada’s role in the U.S. semiconductor supply chain and drive regional innovation.

The ubiquitousness of chips in our daily lives and the nature of its supply chain present Nevada with an opportunity to catalyze the domestic semiconductor industry by harnessing our state’s natural resources, our deep expertise in characterization of critical materials and precision manufacturing. The SMART NV consortium, including its industry-university collaboration, will play a crucial role in fostering supply chain resilience for the benefit of national security and economic development.
