See our latest innovations on May 2!
College of Engineering seniors will showcase their capstone design projects May 2. K-12 visitors are welcome from 10:30 a.m. to noon, followed by public viewing from noon to 1:30 p.m. Businesses interested in attending should fill out our Industry RSVP form. Educators who would like to bring their students to the event should fill out our Innovation Day RSVP form.
See student innovations, plans and developments that solve real-world problems and/or better our lives at Innovation Day. These 100+ projects, often done in conjunction with industry partners, are the culmination of work done in senior capstone courses, which span two semesters and are required for graduation.
Explore student projects in seven disciplines: biomedical engineering, chemical engineering, civil and environmental engineering, computer science and engineering, electrical engineering, materials science and engineering and mechanical engineering. Projects will be displayed in the William Pennington Engineering Building (WPEB), the Harry Reid Engineering Laboratory (HREL) and the Davidson Mathematics & and Science Center (DMSC). Public parking is available at the Gateway Parking Complex and at the Brian J. Whalen Parking Complex. For information on parking fees and other parking options, see the University’s Visitor parking webpage.
Participating teams will vie for prizes in the Capstone Design Project Competition sponsored by the Nevada National Security Site. See the list of finalists on the competition webpage. A multidisciplinary panel of engineers and community leaders will assess projects submitted for the competition on their collective impact to the field of engineering as a whole.
