Dean Jones is part of a University of Nevada, Reno delegation visiting mainland China — Beijing and Shanghai — to discuss University partnerships. Jones, along with University Provost of Undergraduate Education Dave Shintani; Reynolds School of Journalism Dean Alan Stavitsky; and Business Professor Chunlin Liu are visiting institutions that are highly ranked and have well-prepared students interested in working with the University, a top institution in the northern Nevada/Lake Tahoe area. Partnering with and recruiting from these high-ranking institutions supports the University’s strategic goals and provides our students global connections and experiences that will with other world-class students and provides experiences for our augment their careers.

Founded in Shanghai in 1951, East China Normal University (ECNU), in Shanghai, is one of the most prestigious universities in China. Below are images University delegation meets with Chinese dignitaries.
University leadership met with members of Shorelight, an educational company that connects international students and universities, in Beijing.
University leadership met with officials at Peking University (also known as Beijing University), a national public research university with membership in the C9 League (The C9 League is considered by some as equivalent to the Association of American Universities in the United States.)
University leadership visited Sias University in Zhengzhou. Areas of focus at the campus: artificial intelligence, software engineering, data science and big data technology, and blockchain engineering. A unique component of the visit was a demonstration of the use of human brain waves and neuronal cell signaling acquired through amplified electroencephalography (EEG) hertz frequency output to control movement of a train.
