Animal Resources

We oversee veterinary care, direct animal care and administer protocol review across the campus and University facilities and research centers. We collaborate with investigative teams to optimize animal welfare and provide the best possible study results and ensure humane treatment of animals used for teaching.

Enterprise & Innovation

We support and facilitate economic growth and development in northern Nevada. Through the Innevation Center, Nevada Center for Applied Research, Nevada Industry Excellence, and Enterprise and Commercialization teams, we promote research, discovery, innovation and entrepreneurial activities at the University. Our teams expedite the movement of University innovations to the private sector to benefit society and maximize the impact of university research.

We serve as the NSHE Manufacturing Extension Program, working to expand economic growth statewide. We work directly with small to mid-size Nevada companies to strengthen their global competitiveness by providing information, decision support and implementation assistance in adopting new, more advanced technologies, techniques and best business practices.

Project Management Services

Our goal is to help achieve more organized and cohesive research efforts by alleviating some of the administrative burden of grant management for PIs and key personnel. Your project manager will work seamlessly with your coordinator, pre-award research administrator, grants and contracts officer and grant accountant. A project manager can join a project already in progress or at the beginning of the award period.

Research Integrity & Security

We offer faculty and students resources for conducting scientifically and ethically sound research projects, tools to avoid plagiarism and academic misconduct and we oversee compliance with ethical and regulatory requirements for human research protection. We provide our University researchers the support to ensure that programs meet the rigorous standards for quality and protection.

Research & Proposal Development Services

We provide training opportunities and services to enhance faculty proposal development and national recognition for research contributions. Training opportunities include grant writing workshops and panels tailored to specific funding agencies, targeted opportunities, and to colleges requesting support. Services include proposal management and facilitating faculty networking for an increased focus on multi-disciplinary and large center proposals. We also provide proposal editing, coordinate external reviews and graphic design, and offer a range of other services to enhance the competitiveness of proposals.

We help technology entrepreneurs and Nevada small businesses who are seeking funding from the federal Small Business Innovation Research (SBIR) and Small Business Technology Transfer (STTR) programs.

We provide administration services, systems, policies and processes for research and program development and management. We will support you in identifying funding opportunities, mentor you in grant and contract preparation and budgeting, maintain your project records and provide training for program compliance, along with many other services.

Undergraduate Research

We focus on providing undergraduates with the opportunity for meaningful, hands-on research experiences. Our goals are to promote, support and publicize undergraduate research. We offer resources for research scholarship and recognition and we establish mentoring relationships with faculty.
