While it is possible for students to get their vaccines in order to meet their requirements for immunizations for studying in the USA after they have already arrived, it is often more cost effective and less of a hassle to have it done beforehand. Many health insurance policies for international students may not cover immunization costs, and the plans that do cover immunization are often much more expensive to purchase, costing more than what it would take to pay off the immunization costs yourself , please see the immunization cost.
