Advising & placement

All new students (including freshmen, transfer students, and newly declared majors), continuing freshmen, sophomores meet with an Academic Advisor in the College of Science. Students in these categories should refer to the College of Science advising website for more information.

Core math advisors

The Silver Core Curriculum information is the foundation for undergraduate education at the University of Nevada, Reno. Every student must complete at least 3 units of an approved Quantitative Reasoning course. The ability to apply content from prerequisite courses is critical for student success in subsequent Quantitative Reasoning courses (CO2). Please schedule a meeting with one of our Core Advisors by email for matters related to the University's Silver Core general education requirements.

Faculty advising

All Mathematics & Statistics majors and minors should consult a faculty advisor on issues such as course selection.  When scheduling an appointment with your advisor, please provide days/times that you are available to meet to expedite the process.
