Summary

Arturo Macias Franco is a second-year Ph.D. student in the College of Agriculture Biotechnology and Natural Resources working in Dr. Mozart Fonseca's laboratory. Arturo is also pursuing an M.S. in Statistics and Data Science from the College of Science under the advisement of Dr. Paul Hurtado. Arturo was born and raised in Torreon Coahuila, an agricultural hub of northern Mexico. Naturally, his research interests serve as a reflection of his life experiences. Arturo's current work integrates mathematical and statistical models into solutions for agricultural and biological dilemmas in topics such as sustainability, nutrition, water use and water efficiency, and predictive carcass modeling.
