Each building on campus has an occupant email list managed by Facilities Services, with automated subscription through Workday.
If you are an employee of the University and Workday lists your office location in a particular building on campus, you are automatically subscribed to that building's notification list. This list does not have an "unsubscribe" option, as it is a mandatory channel of communication for health and safety on campus. Subscribed occupants of a building will be notified by email if they could possibly be impacted or inconvenienced by any of the following situations:
Outage notices (unplanned loss of power, etc.)
Utility shutdowns (electrical, water, air conditioning or heating, etc.)
Please check Workday to ensure that your office location "Work Space" is listed accurately. If it is correct and you are still receiving notices to the wrong building, please contact us by email. Otherwise, to have your name removed from a building list, your supervisor will have to update your employee location information in Workday. If you recently left employment at the University, you may have to wait while HR processes closing your information out of Workday. Once that is complete, your building subscription will be canceled.
Non-University of Nevada, Reno staff
If you are receiving notices and want to be removed from a building list, please contact us by email.
For the secondary building(s) you wish to be subscribed to, please contact us by email. To unsubscribe from these secondary buildings later, you'll need to request that via email as well.
The Employee Self Service System (ESS) system no longer is the primary source of employee directory information. Workday now contains all current directory information and employee office information must be updated by the employee's supervisor on Workday.
