Summary
Mariam loves working collaboratively with students toward their goals. She identifies as a queer, pansexual, biracial (Moroccan/American-white), cisgender woman. A licensed Master Social Worker, Mariam provides clinical services to students including individual therapy, group therapy, and outreach. She sees each student as unique, considering their history, culture, perspectives, strengths and challenges. Utilizing a Relational, Person-centered approach she integrates multiple modalities and interventions (i.e. Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, Psychodynamic Therapy, Dialectical Behavior Therapy, and the Collaborative Assessment and Management of Suicidality).
Mariam earned her Bachelor of Arts in Psychology at George Mason University and her Master of Social Work at UNR. Mariam has a history of advocacy and volunteer service with folks from diverse backgrounds and the LGBTQIA+ community. She grew up overseas and moved to Reno, NV from the D.C. area in 2012. In her free time she enjoys being a cat Mama, spending time with loved ones, and visiting new coffee shops.
