Kelly Hughes, Ph.D.

Postdoctoral Fellow she/her/hers

Summary

Kelly received her Ph.D. in Counseling Psychology from Auburn University. She spends half of her time at Counseling Services conducting psychological assessments and the other half working on clinical research. Kelly believes assessment can be transformative – not only in understanding academic strengths and weaknesses – but also in conceptualizing how the individual’s personality and unique life experiences shape how they approach significant stressors and day-to-day challenges. Kelly takes an existential, humanistic approach to counseling and she holds that greater insight allows one to see more choices when making decisions. In her leisure time, she enjoys running, playing tennis and reading pretty much any genre.
