Education
Ashley is a Reno native and an alumna of the University of Nevada, Reno. She received her undergraduate degree in Psychology and graduate degree in Human Development and Family Studies with an emphasis in Addiction Treatment and Prevention Services. Ashley has been working at the University of Nevada, Reno since 2012 and she currently serves as the Licensed Alcohol and Drug Counselor. She works as a part of Counseling Services and collaborates with other campus partners for prevention and education services surrounding alcohol and drugs. Ashley has previous experience working in the community at various agencies with clients who have struggled with substance use. Her approach to counseling is client centered with a focus on motivational interviewing to best determine the needs of the individual. Within the focus of alcohol and drug treatment, Ashley's research has included emotional awareness, identification and management and how these influence substance use.
