Summary

Languages: Spanish, English

I was born in a small mining town in the Peruvian Andes, at about 12,300 feet above sea level, but completed my secondary education in Lima. Although I had been accepted into the Jurisprudence program at the National University of San Marcos, I decided to leave and rejoin my mother and siblings who had immigrated to Reno. My undergraduate degree in Information Systems and my master’s in Counseling and Educational Psychology are both from the University of Nevada, Reno.

I have worked in a variety of roles within Student Services: Admissions and Records, Prospective Students, and since 2001 in Financial Aid and Scholarships. Our highest priority is to ensure that an education is accessible to all qualified students irrespective of family circumstances. In my free time I spend time with my children and husband out of doors; I enjoy running barefoot; and I am a huge fan of Gustavo Cerati and Soda Stereo, the legendary Argentine pop-rock group.
