Making-a-difference Award for Dedication to Justice, Equity, Diversity, and Inclusivity (JEDI) in the Geosciences

This award recognizes a person or a group of people in the Geoscience community at the University of Nevada, Reno, that through deed and word improved the conditions to work, interact, and flourish for every member in our community. In particular, the work of a person or a group of people that specifically is focused to increase diversity, inclusivity, equity, and justice in our community is at the core of this award.  As the community advances towards an environment of justice, equity, diversity, and inclusivity, big and little efforts to remove barriers and biases make the difference and build a stronger community. While these efforts are recognized in this award, the community understands that continuous work and improvements are needed as we strive toward our goal of a more inclusive geoscience community.

Nominations (including optional self-nominations) and supporting materials are to be submitted by any member of the UNR Geoscience community to the selection committee. The selection committee will consist of at least three members that represent the spectrum of the community drawing from undergraduate and graduate students, faculty, and other community members.
