Silas L. Goetz

M.S. in Geology

Summary

I discovered my passion for geology after talking with a local consultant in mineral exploration and mining. I decided to pursue my undergraduate degree in geology at the University of Wyoming where I was fortunate to work with Dr. Simone Runyon studying the Pumpkin Hollow deposit as an undergraduate. This research experience coupled with my industry experience working as a Geotech for Hard Rock consulting motivated me to pursue a master's degree. In addition to geology, I enjoy fly fishing, backpacking, and hunting.

Throughout the duration of my master's program at the University of Nevada, Reno, I will work with Round Mountain Gold Corporation studying the Gold Hill deposit, which is a low- sulfidation epithermal Au-Ag proximal to the world class Round Mountain low-sulfidation epithermal Au-Ag system. Throughout my master's program I will contribute to the exploration model of Gold Hill and ultimately aid the exploration team in exploration vectoring of other deposits in the district, using a variety of field and analytical methods.
