Summary
Grant is currently the Sustainability Manager for the University of Nevada, Reno, where he is responsible for leading the university's efforts to be "green." This includes tracking sustainability outcomes and metrics, driving engagement and impact, and serving as a sustainability-expert resource for the University community. Most recently, he held the role of Sustainability Program Manager for the University of Texas at Arlington. He has experience in sustainability, circularity, and social responsibility, while spending time volunteering in his community. Additionally, Grant currently serves on the Board of Directors for Let’s Go Compost.
In 2022, he completed a mentorship program with Clinton Global Initiative University for the year, focusing on environment & climate change in the area of waste management and sustainability which included research that was presented to the State of Texas Alliance for Recycling. He was most recently the Environmental Justice & Recruitment Manager for a US-based nonprofit initiative of the Ellen Macarthur Foundation that was originally launched by The Recycling Partnership, where he worked to embed environmental justice into a just transition to a circular economy for plastics, while addressing plastic pollution. Additionally, he served on the Resource Conservation Council for the North Central Texas Council of Governments, the Air North Texas Coalition, part of the Executive Committee of the Texas Regional Alliance for Campus Sustainability (TRACS), and served on the Technical Advisory Committee of DFW Clean Cities.
For his work, he has been recognized as a Circularity23 Emerging Leader by Trellis (formerly GreenBiz), was selected as a part of an American sustainability delegation to Denmark and Sweden led by Circular San Antonio in April 2024, was recognized as a Rising Star by Plastic News in 2024, and a featured career profile by the American Association of Geographers. He has presented at various academic and professional conferences as well as leading workshops across the United States on environmental, circularity, and sustainability related topics. Grant is a bilingual English-Spanish speaker with an educational background includes sustainability, geography, Spanish, and civil engineering leadership.
