Summary
Blair Batky will join the University of Nevada, Reno in Fall 2025. She will be recruiting a graduate student to start in Fall 2026.
Dr. Batky earned her Ph.D. in Clinical Psychology, with a concentration in Clinical Child Psychology, at the University of Alabama. She then completed her predoctoral internship at New York University/Bellevue Hospital Center and postdoctoral fellowship at Weill Cornell Medicine’s Center for Youth Mental Health.
Dr. Batky’s research broadly focuses on improving the assessment and treatment of adolescent externalizing problems (e.g., aggression, rule-breaking) through better understanding externalizing problem development. As emotional experiences are strongly implicated in severe externalizing behavior, Dr. Batky’s work examines how traits associated with emotional deficits (psychopathic/callous-unemotional traits) and emotion regulation difficulties contribute to externalizing problems. Her research also emphasizes using multiple methods (e.g., EEG, behavioral task performance) to assess adolescent externalizing behavior and psychopathic traits.
