Delinquent Accounts

Per NSHE Board of Regents policy (view Title 4, Chapter 17, Section 2 on page 527 of the handbook), a student or former student with a delinquent accounts receivable of $500 or more at the University of Nevada, Reno or UNLV, or $200 or more at NSU, CSN, GBC, TMCC, or WNC, or an overdue loan of any amount with any NSHE institution, is not permitted to register at any NSHE institution.

"Delinquent Accounts Receivable" includes any of the following fee categories billed through MyNevada that remain unpaid past the due date listed in MyNevada:

  • Tuition
  • Registration fees
  • Student fees
  • Special course fees
  • Residential life charges

Account hold enrollment appeal

The University offers an appeals process for current or former students with a delinquent account registration hold. This process allows students to request temporary authorization to register for an upcoming semester. If you wish to pursue this option, please complete the Delinquent Account Enrollment Appeal form.

Please note that the review process may take up to 5 business days.

Late fees

Term start late fees: Per NSHE Board of Regents Policy (view Title 4, Chapter 17, Section 24 on page 540 of the handbook), a late payment fee of up to $25 per day may be assessed for payments received after the payment deadline up to $250 for past due balances greater than $100.

Subsequent late fees: Per NSHE Board of Regents Policy (view Title 4, Chapter 17, Section 20 #4 on page 539 of the handbook), a penalty fee of 10% with a minimum of $10 shall be charged on the deferred payment not paid by the due date.

Late fee appeal

The University offers an appeal process for current and former students that have accrued late payment fees. If you wish to pursue this option, please complete the Late Fee Appeal form. Please note, accounts must be in good standing with no past due charges for the appeal to be considered. It can take up to 5 business days for review.
