About the artist
Anna was born in coastal Santa Cruz, raised near Fresno, and educated in Silicon Valley. Prior to becoming a full-time artist, Anna worked as a computer engineer, including 12 years in the DreamWorks Animation R&D department. She plays French horn in community orchestras, and her love of technology and rhythm inform all her projects. She lives in South Reno with her husband and a very opinionated cat, The Biscuit.
Artist's statement
I’m a project-based artist with an interest in subcultures, memory and technology. Through sculptural photography and installation, I explore cycles of obsolescence. When a topic becomes important to me, I return to photograph it repeatedly, getting to know the related people, economics, architecture, and history and forming relationships that often lead to further collaboration. I often incorporate found objects in my work, and I enjoy curation.
