Rora Blue was born in northern California and raised in rural Texas. She began creating art after graduating high school. Her interdisciplinary practice commonly takes the form of installation and web art and is characterized by interactivity, text and color. In 2021 she received her BFA in New Genres from the San Francisco Art Institute. She is currently interested in abjection theory and reframing dialogue surrounding disability.
Drawing from the wells of being multiply marginalized my practice unpacks the intricacies of everyday interactions for queer people, disabled people and gender minorities. I dissect dialogue through text-based art and installation to create space to question and disrupt narratives. My intention in working this way is to generate discussion about issues that are not always openly talked about.
