Prior to her role at the University of Nevada, Reno, Katie served as the director of research accounting at the University of Arkansas, an R1 institution, where she gained invaluable experience in overseeing the financial aspects of research projects. In her current role, Katie is entrusted with the oversight of all aspects of the department, ensuring compliance with funding agency regulations and institutional policies. With a strategic focus on grant and contract management, she spearheads initiatives to identify new funding opportunities and establish robust processes for proposal and award administration.

Katie holds a degree in accounting from the University of Nevada, Las Vegas, and is a Certified Public Accountant (CPA) licensed in the state of Nevada. Beyond her professional achievements, Katie is actively engaged in her community, serving as a lecturer at the UNLV School of Architecture and volunteering as a reading tutor at underserved public schools.
