Dr. Iratcabal’s research interests include laser ablation, laser produced plasmas, and high energy density physics. These topics find a wide range of applications and can be used in the laboratory to study extreme conditions such as those found in astrophysical environments. Dr. Iratcabal is also participating in research that explores the extreme conditions created during asteroid impacts. Additionally, Dr. Iratcabal remains engaged in the development of diagnostic tools and experimental platforms using lasers and hypervelocity launchers to explore matter in extreme conditions.
