Chapter resources

The Office of Fraternity and Sorority Life regularly compiles a list of helpful chapter resources, from engaging training to helpful University policies. Chapter leadership should review and take advantage of the many services and resources available to fraternities and sororities. These resources are intended for you to successfully run your organization.

Training and workshops

  • Alcohol and Drug Awareness Education - Contact the Office of Student Conduct’s Alcohol and Drug Counselor at studentconduct@unr.edu and request a workshop for your organization.
  • Diversity, Equity and Inclusion - Choose from a variety of workshops and become champions for DEI initiatives within your organization.
  • Hazing Prevention - Contact the Office of Fraternity and Sorority Life at greek@unr.edu and request a hazing prevention workshop for your organization.
  • Sexual Harassment/Assault and Relationship Violence - NevadaCARES provides training, discussions, and a range of prevention opportunities for those impacted by sexual assault, relationship violence, and stalking.
  • Career and Professional Development - Choose from a variety of workshops to enhance your members’ career readiness and professional development. From resume writing and cover letters to using LinkedIn and searching for internships, the Nevada Career Studio has a lot to offer.
  • UNR Police Services - Choose from a variety of workshops designed to keep you and your organization safe. From Active Assailant training to Women’s Self Defense, UNR Police Services offers many opportunities for large-group learning.

Mental Health

  • LiveWell - LiveWell is here to prioritize your well-being and navigate campus resources to take care of you and your Pack. This resource explores the eight dimensions of wellness and offers various opportunities to engage, learn, and heal.
  • Annex Outreach Center - The Annex, located on the southwest corner of Great Basin Hall, offers drop-in consultations, workshops, and support groups.
  • University of Nevada, Reno Counseling Services - From training your members on Mental Health First Aid to topic-specific learning opportunities, connect with the University of Nevada, Reno Counseling Services to bring mental health awareness to your organization.

Event Planning

Chapter Operations Support

  • Chapter to-do’s checklist - Chapter leadership should review this document as it contains important dates and deadlines. It is highly encouraged for chapter presidents and executive board leaders to print this document out for easy reference.
  • Designated FSL staff - Each organization has a designated Fraternity and Sorority Life Advisor. Your FSL Advisor will be your primary University contact and will help your organization thrive.

  • Affiliation Card/Grade Release Form - Every student affiliated with one of the University’s organizations must electronically fill out and submit this document. This document allows the FSL staff to pull, compile and share chapter grades with the chapter president, chapter advisor and national headquarters' staff at the end of each semester.

University Policies

  • 2024-2026 University Relationship Agreement - The chapter president, chapter executive officers and chapter advisor are responsible for reviewing and upholding the University Relationship Agreement every year.
  • Helpful Policies - Learn about some of the most important policies pertaining to conducting chapter business on campus.
  • Student Code of Conduct - Every student and organization should familiarize themselves with the University Student Code of Conduct. Students and organizations may be held responsible for misconduct.
  • Hazing Policy - Learn about the University’s hazing policy.
  • Academic Standards Policy - Specific to the academic pursuits of students, the University of Nevada, Reno, believes the maintenance of academic standards is a joint responsibility of the students and faculty of the University.
