Degree verification

The Office Admissions and Records is responsible for verifying degrees awarded to our students and alumni. Degree verification is required for a variety of reasons, such as employment, applying to graduate school, scholarship applications or military service.

There are multiple ways to request degree verification, including transcripts, degree verification letters and National Student Clearinghouse.

Verification type How to order Notes
Transcript verification Use the National Student Clearinghouse to order official transcripts online If the transcript is ordered before the degree posting process has finished, completion of the degree will not appear on the transcript. If you need a transcript with the degree posted, select the Hold Option: "After Degree is Posted"
Degree verification letter Send an email to with the details of the degree verification letter required. Include a copy of your photo ID and a destination address or fax number Degree verification letters are only available until a diploma has been mailed (within three months of degree awarded). Once a diploma has been mailed, an official transcript is the degree verification.
Third-party employer and background check verification Use the National Student Clearinghouse to submit an online verification request There is a charge for verification requests made through the National Student Clearinghouse.
