Immunization requirements

All students attending the University of Nevada, Reno are required to submit proof of having received the following immunizations:

  1. Two doses of the measles, mumps, and rubella (MMR). The first dose must be on or after your first birthday.
  2. One dose for tetanus/diphtheria (TD). It must have been taken within the last 10 years.
  3. All incoming or enrolled freshmen (regardless of whether they are living on campus or not) under the age of 23 at the time of initial enrollment are required to submit proof of having received the Meningitis vaccination with at least one dose occurring on or after age 16.
    Acceptable versions of the Meningitis vaccination include any quadrivalent Meningitis vaccine, such as:
    • Menactra
    • Menveo (MenACYW-135)
    • MenQuadfi
    • MCV4
    • Pentavalent
    • Penbraya (MenACWY-TT/MenB-FHbp)
    Vaccines for Meningitis B do not meet the requirement and are optional:
    • Bexero or Trumemba (MENG B)
    • HIB Meningitis

Submitting immunization records

You must provide a copy of your immunization records before registering for classes. You may mail, fax, hand-deliver or email these records to our offices.

  • Online via a secure portal: You may submit your immunization records via our online portal.
  • Mail: If you'd like to mail records, you can send them to the following address:

  • Hand-deliver: You may also hand-deliver immunization records to the Office of Admissions and Records on the second floor of the Fitzgerald Student Services building.
  • Fax: You may fax immunization records to (775) 784-4283.
