Summary

Catherine has dedicated her career to fund development and community engagement. A native Nevadan and proud graduate of the University of Nevada, Reno, she has been writing and managing grants for more than a decade, supporting local nonprofits such as Northern Nevada Legal Aid, The Children’s Cabinet, the Community Foundation of Northern Nevada, and Sierra Nevada Journeys. Her work has included securing state, federal, and private foundation funding, managing donor databases, and guiding development teams through periods of transition.

She joined the College of Engineering in 2024 as a technical editor in the Engineering Research Office, where she focused on structural and copy editing to help faculty craft clear, compelling research narratives. Later that year, she transitioned to the Research & Proposal Development Services team as a research development specialist. In this role, she helps faculty identify funding opportunities, supports proposal development, provides editing services, presents on research funding opportunities, and facilitates interdisciplinary collaboration. Catherine is also an FAA-certified drone pilot and is committed to advancing cutting-edge research that delivers meaningful impact across Nevada and beyond.
