About this option
This option is for students who are already enrolled in a master’s degree program. In this option, you'll complete your Dietetic Internship with us as a non-degree-seeking student (Graduate Special). Students will receive their Verification Statement after successful completion of our DIP and their master's degree.
Admission requirements
- DPD Verification Statement
- Documented success of two semesters completed in their graduate program
- A cumulative grade-point average of at least 2.75
Application process summary
Applicants are admitted to our DIP on a competitive basis. Prospective students should apply online to our Dietetic Internship Program through the Dietetic Inclusive Centralized Application Service (DICAS).
A complete application includes:
- A statement of purpose- Include in your DICAS application, and addresses the following questions (in 1,000 words or less):
- Why do you want to gain admission to the University's Dietetic Internship Program, and why is this program a good fit for you?
- What experiences (e.g., academic, co-curricular, employment) have helped you to prepare for this program?
- What are your short- and long-term academic and professional goals?
- What are your strengths and areas for improvement?
- Three letters of reference - Enter the contact information for your three references on your DICAS application. They will be contacted through DICAS to address the following questions:
- Summarize your relationship with the applicant applying to the University's Dietetic Internship Program. Please discuss the duration and nature of your relationship with the applicant.
- Describe and provide relevant example(s) of the applicant’s analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Describe and provide example(s) of the applicant’s communication skills and abilities to work effectively in a team environment.
- How would you quantitatively or qualitatively rank this applicant’s readiness to succeed in the University's Dietetic Internship Program relative to other peers/employees?
- Official transcriptsfrom every institution attended, including a transcript from your current graduate program documenting completion of two semesters of degree requirements. Request official transcripts to be sent directly to DICAS.
