Clinical rotation
Schedule:
- 15 weeks
- 560 hours
Your individual training schedule will be developed by the program director and site preceptors.
Features:
- 2 weeks of staff relief to practice entry-level responsibilities in an area of your interest
You'll:
- Apply the nutrition care process
- Navigate electronic health records
- Increase in responsibility and patient interaction
- Provide medical nutrition therapy interventions in acute-care settings
Food service / management rotation
Schedule:
- 6 weeks
- 240 hours
Your individual training schedule will be developed by the program director and site preceptors.
Features:
- Quality improvement projects
- In-service on hiring and training
- In a hospital or large-size production setting
You'll:
Collaborate and practice leadership roles:
- Food safety and sustainability
- Problem solving and decision making
- Menu development and procurement
- Budgeting and financial analysis and application
Community rotation
Schedule:
- 4 weeks
- 160 hours
Your individual training schedule will be developed by the program director and site preceptors.
Features:
- Includes two weeks at Nevada Women, Infants and Children (WIC)
You'll:
Spend two weeks focusing on an area of your interest:
- Eating disorders
- Sports or community nutrition
- Diabetes or weight management
- Infants and toddlers with disabilities
