Jung Hwan Kim

Assistant Professor

Jung Hwan Kim is an Assistant professor in Biology department. Dr. Kim received his Ph.D. in Life Science from Pohang University of Science and Technology in South Korea and completed his postdoctoral training from the University of Michigan, Ann Arbor.

Research interests

Kim lab is interested in fundamental questions in cell biology of the nervous system. Current research questions range from mechanisms and functions of subcellular protein localization in axonal development and functions to the molecular mechanisms of yippee-like genes in synapse development. Kim lab takes advantage of cutting-edge approaches including advanced genetics, microscope imaging, biochemical and cell biological techniques using Drosophila (fruit flies) as model system.
