Summary

Kaden Ackerson the Program Manager for the Office of Undergraduate (and Graduate) Fellowships, where she helps students explore and apply for competitive national and international scholarships and fellowships. She also supports the office’s data and marketing efforts. Kaden is currently an undergraduate student at the University of Nevada, Reno (UNR), pursuing a BA in International Affairs and Political Science, with an emphasis in Asian Studies, and a minor in Chinese. She uses her combined interests in business, international relations, and language to support student success.

Originally from Charlotte, North Carolina, she attended a language immersion academy where she studied Mandarin Chinese and developed her passion for language learning. Before attending UNR, Kaden earned her Associate of Arts in Business from Truckee Meadows Community College and participated in the Johns Hopkins Center for Talented Youth Chinese Program.

On campus, Kaden serves as Student Vice President of Phi Kappa Phi, the university’s oldest honors society. Off campus, she volunteers with the Northern Nevada International Center, tutoring refugees. She also volunteers with She Means Business, a local nonprofit supporting young women in business. Aside from these positions, Kaden enjoys yoga, skiing, traveling, and reading.

Looking ahead, Kaden hopes to integrate her studies in business, language, and international affairs in a career in diplomacy or international business, where she can continue building cross-cultural connections and supporting global collaboration.
