Employee recognition is not just the polite thing to do for people. Employee recognition is a message that emphasizes and rewards excellence at the University of Nevada, Reno. When recognizing classified staff effectively, you reinforce the actions and behaviors most desired throughout campus.

April Employee of the Month: Cathy Clark-McDonald

As part of the Staff Employees Council (SEC), the Classified Employees Recognition Committee reviews nominations for outstanding classified employees on a monthly basis and recognizes up to two classified employees each month. The Employee of the Month shall receive a certificate, their name on the Lawlor marquee, a letter from President Brian Sandoval with an invitation to have coffee and a pastry, as well as a Blue Card entitling them to various discounts and freebies. 2024-25 Committee Chair: Darren Barnes

Each year the Staff Employees' Council recognizes one classified staff employee who makes exceptional contributions to the University. All members of the campus community are encouraged to nominate staff colleagues who deserve this special acknowledgment.

Each year the Staff Employees' Council recognizes an exemplary classified staff member who has excelled in their position and demonstrated significant impact to their department and the University.

Foundation Classified Outstanding Leadership Award

Each year the Staff Employees' Council recognizes an exemplary classified staff member who has excelled in leadership and supervision of other employees at the University.  All members of the campus community are encouraged to nominate staff colleagues who deserve this special acknowledgment.

Wolf Cub of the Year Award

Wolf Cub of the Year

The Wolf Cub of the Year award recognizes outstanding full and part-time classified staff members who exemplify the University's standards for excellence and innovation during their first two years of employment.

Classified Staff Honoree

Classified Staff Honoree is a designation afforded to retired university classified staff members that meet eligibility requirements and receive approval for this status.
