Summary
Samuel Ash is the Student Actualization and Engagement Specialist at the Honors College. He supports incoming students as they navigate their first year at the University of Nevada, Reno and the Honors College. He is currently pursuing a Ph.D. in Interdisciplinary Social Psychology. Samuel received his Bachelor of Arts in psychology and educational studies from Macalester College in 2024. He then went on to receive a Master of Arts in critical disability studies from York University of Toronto in 2025. His interests lie at the intersection of psychology, education, and disability. He has conducted research to explore improving attitudes and reducing bias towards disabled people through the use of educational interventions. Additionally, he has been part of numerous research projects, which include investigating ableism in mental healthcare settings and examining the overwork of educators within special education. Samuel looks forward to incorporating his various experiences into assisting Honors students throughout their time in the Honors College.
Outside of academia, Samuel is a board game enthusiast, an avid sports fan, and enjoys spending time with family.
