Scholarship eligibility after the first-year
To be eligible for any University of Nevada, Reno scholarships after a student’s first year at the University of Nevada, Reno, students must complete the annual Graduate and Undergraduate Scholarship Application (GUS) in MyNevada Supplemental Forms.
GUS is available starting October 1st of the prior calendar year, and due February 1st of the calendar year in which the school year begins. For example, the scholarship application for the 2020-2021 school year becomes available October 1st, 2019, and is due February 1st, 2020. It is highly recommended that all students complete the FAFSA online annually at FAFSA.gov (or the Institutional Methodology for FAFSA-Ineligible Students) to maximize eligibility for scholarships. Financial need is determined by completing these applications, and many students qualify for scholarships that require financial need, even if they do not have enough need to qualify for federal grants. The FAFSA and Institutional Methodology become available and are due on the same dates as GUS.
