Spanish (Literature and Culture Specialization), B.A.
Undergraduate students looking to enhance their cultural understanding of the second most widely spoken language in the United States, should consider the Bachelor of Arts in Spanish. The Spanish major with an emphasis in literature and culture offered through the World Languages and Literatures Department within the College of Liberal Arts is an invaluable option to further undergraduate education with rich cultural experiences. The B.A. in Spanish provides students with a number of Spanish language skills including composition, culture and literature, as well as advanced grammar, conversation and Spanish film knowledge.
To complete the Spanish major, 30 credits are required, all of which must be 300 level or above. In addition, at least 12 credits must be completed on the University of Nevada, Reno campus. Approved study abroad courses in Spain or Latin America may be used to fulfill some of the major requirements.
