Our faculty have considerable expertise in evolutionary and community ecology with a focus on interactions between biological populations over multiple spatial and temporal scales.
Interactions are often examined in the context of coevolution, with tests of how sets of interacting species evolve reciprocal adaptations.
Specific areas of research and instruction in the areas of interaction ecology include studies of plant-animal interactions, chemical ecology, mutualism, herbivory, ecological extinction, and autecological responses to community interactions.
