Associate Director, Student Union Operations

The University of Nevada, Reno is recruiting for the position of Associate Director, Student Union Operations for the Joe Crowley Student Union. The incumbent is a key member of the senior management team who works closely with and reports to the Director of the Student Union. The incumbent is responsible for design, execution, security, and effectiveness of the daily operations of the 167,000 square feet Joe Crowley Student Union (JCSU). The person directly supervises full-time administrative faculty, classified staff, and manages the oversight of building operations’ student employees program, including, but not limited to, operations, custodial and set-up/breakdown staff. The Associate Director is responsible for the translation of University of Nevada, Reno and Student Services’ goals and/or policies into the operational plans and procedures for the diverse functions, services, and programs in the Student Union. The individual develops and manages the multi-million dollar operating budget in addition to the capital improvement from the Nevada Wolf Shop and retail vendors housed in the student union. The incumbent provides stewardship of the student fees to ensure that operations are effective, efficient, and meet the needs of the university community. The individual supervises and coordinates all aspects of construction/renovation projects to the student union facilities. The Associate Director is responsible for all operational decisions concerning the student union in the absence of the Director.

Coordinator, Technology

The University of Nevada, Reno is recruiting for a full-time Coordinator, Information Technology for the Joe Crowley Student Union. The incumbent is responsible for coordinating information technology activities for the department including IT operations, system purchasing and configuration, and supervision of the desktop support function for all departmental computers. The position includes maintenance planning and oversight, inventory oversight, and development of a long-range planning for the replacement of all desktops, laptops, IPads, and tech cart computers, as well as printers and other hardware associated with these devices to ensure the union maintains cutting-edge technology to best serve its customers. The position serves as the liaison between the Student Union and UNR’s Information Technology related to network and server technology, security, and policy compliance. This position implements distributed applications, ensures network authentication, and assists with network security design and implementation.
