Summary
Dr. C.-Booman is an experimentalist specializing in fluid dynamics. He has been an assistant professor of aerospace engineering at the University of Nevada, Reno since September 2025. His research focuses on turbulent boundary layers, Lagrangian dynamics of inertial particles in both turbulent and quiescent flows, and microgravity fluid mechanics.
Before joining UNR, he was a postdoctoral fellow at Stanford University’s Center for Turbulence Research, where he investigated wall-pressure and shear-stress fluctuations at high Reynolds numbers under the supervision of Beverley McKeon. Prior to that, he was at Portland State University with Raúl Bayoán Cal on particle-laden flows in microgravity, expanding his work to boundary-layer and space-flight applications.
He earned his Ph.D. in physics from the École Normale Supérieure de Lyon and CNRS under the supervision of Mickaël Bourgoin and Nicolas Plihon, where he designed and conducted laboratory experiments on particle-laden turbulence. He holds B.S. and M.S. degrees in physics from the University of Buenos Aires.
