Ph.D. in Geography

Summary

I am currently pursuing my Ph.D. in Geography at the University of Nevada, Reno, with a focus on urban geography. I have been working at the Laboratory for the Conservation Biogeography (LCB) under the supervision of Dr. Tom Albright since 2023. My research centers on understanding the Urban Heat Island (UHI) effect using high resolution satellite imagery (e.g., ECOSTRESS) and to analyze spatial and temporal heat variability in rapidly warming urban environments. This work is supported by funding from NASA.

I hold an M.S. in Geography from the University of North Dakota, where I conducted research on crop diversity. Prior to that, I completed both an M.S. and a B.S. in Disaster Science and Management at the University of Dhaka, with a focus on agricultural adaptation strategies in the context of climate change in Bangladesh.
